Jaecoo J7 – Warranty Details (Official)

In 2025, revenue in Malaysia’s SUV market is projected to generate over US$7 billion, driven by growing demand for versatile and performance-ready vehicles. The Jaecoo J7 enters this space as a rugged yet refined contender, backed by a turbocharged engine, competitive pricing, and a comprehensive warranty programme that prioritises long-term peace of mind.

Jaecoo J7 Warranty

The Jaecoo J7 comes with a 7-year/150,000 km comprehensive warranty, transferable to new owners, with optional coverage extending to 10 years/1,000,000 km for the engine. PHEV models get 8-year/160,000 km coverage on the battery, motor, and controller with a health guarantee. Regular servicing at authorised centres is required to maintain validity.

Standard Vehicle Warranty Coverage

The Jaecoo J7 is backed by a 7-year or 150,000 km warranty, offering long-term peace of mind for new owners. This coverage begins from the date of first registration and protects against defects in materials and workmanship across most vehicle components.

To maintain warranty validity, all scheduled maintenance must be performed at authorised Jaecoo service centres, following the official service manual. The warranty is also transferable to subsequent owners, helping preserve the vehicle’s resale value.

Extended Engine Warranty Package (EWP)

For added peace of mind, Jaecoo offers an Extended Engine Warranty Package at RM2,000, covering the J7’s engine for up to 10 years or 1,000,000 kilometres, whichever comes first. This package was also included as a special incentive for early bird buyers.

What’s Covered Under the EWP?

The EWP protects key components in the engine assembly against major mechanical failure, including:

  • Crankcase Assembly
  • Water Pump & Oil Pump Assembly
  • Crankshaft Assembly
  • Piston Assembly
  • Cylinder Head Assembly
  • Timing Chain/Belt Assembly
  • Cylinder Head Body Assembly
  • Dual Mass Flywheel
  • Oil Pan Assembly
  • Oil Dipstick Assembly

PHEV-Specific Warranty

Owners of the Jaecoo J7 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) enjoy 8 years or 160,000 km of warranty coverage for high-voltage components — including the battery, motor, and controller. This warranty also includes a battery health guarantee: if the battery’s State of Health (SOH) drops below 70% during the warranty period, it qualifies for a one-to-one replacement.

Warranty Periods for Specific Components

While the Jaecoo J7 offers a 7-year general warranty, some components have shorter coverage periods. Key engine, suspension, and electronic parts are covered for 3 years or 60,000 km, while others like the exhaust and brake pads have warranty terms ranging from 1 to 2 years.
